Avian Influenza Outbreak
The H5N1 bird flu is a highly infectious disease that affects the majority of wild birds, US poultry, and has/can even affect humans. It is one of the many self mutating diseases that can cause respiratory problems, body aches, fever, and pink eye. The H5N1 bird flu can mutate through genetic resorting and antigenic drift. This is becoming a serious issue because not only is it a health risk, but it is causing mass inflation on products related to it. For example, the department of agriculture has seen a rise of 20.3 percent increase in price for good such as milk, eggs, and some select meats.
