Music and Football?

Today I read two blogs online on my iPad. One was a TMZ sports blog about outfits of arriving players and the upcoming battle of the super bowl. The other was about hip hop music growing to be a bigger part of the super bowl. It was cool news to see that exciting things still randomly happen in the world. To everyone’s surprise, Kendrick lamar will be performing at halftime featuring SZA also!! They are two of the most popular artist right now.

How can me reading one blog about events that will happen and things that have happened affect my perception on topics a hardly cared for? I felt excited after reading some things in the blogs. One player of the team had the audacity to wear the other team’s color while entering the event. It felt like I could feel a invisible rivalry through my screen. I am not a person who really cares for super bowl events or top artist but I felt something inside me that almost felt like care while reading. I like Kendrick Lamar though haha.

This is what the second blog had to say about tonight. “Super Bowl LIX is going to be an absolute classic as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII. Overall, this could be a historic night as the Chiefs are looking to take home the first three-peat in the history of the NFL. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts and company are trying to get the franchise's second-ever Super Bowl. They won it about seven years ago, but Hurts is trying to go out there and get his first.” (Link 2) I am not the biggest fan of the chiefs but I can admire their effort to get this far.

My perception has always been that it should be an original marching band instead of a live performer even though it is cool to see. Either way it is awesome to see how music is allowed to impact the sports industry still today. I liked the First blog better because I feel like it gave more detail and more accurate information. The second blog I didn’t like because it seemed like it was only about a performance.

  1. I love the little story that often happens in sports that sets up a big rivalries during the game. It adds a little something special that I appreciate and it definitely add hypes around the game. I was also excited to hear that Kendrick Lamar was performing considering I am a huge Kendrick fan with Damn being my favorite album with his new album GNX coming close second.
